Welcome to Letter Box Hamper
Letter Box hamper is a business born out of a desire to revamp the hamper industry. Our thoughtful, personalised, small hampers make for the perfect postable present, each beautifully hand wrapped and delivered as a surprise, straight through letter boxes.
Hi, I’m Jonathan, the proud founder of Letter Box Hamper which I established in 2014 following a desire to escape the daily grind of city living and working. Journeying south, I arrived in beautiful Cornwall where I soon fell in love with the slower pace of life. With space to breathe, I discovered an incredible array of food and drink producers right on my doorstep, each passionate about their produce as well as their environmental credentials.
This immediately struck a chord with me - my background is in sustainability and my previous life saw me working for Virgin Atlantic as a Sustainability Assessor as well as an Environmental Consultant for a range of city firms.
I was all too aware of the need for a circular economy, the necessity to reduce food waste and improve packaging options, which was particularly pertinent in the hamper industry. I observed how food hampers were generally large in size, containing far too much produce than desired by the recipient whilst being packaged in unsustainable packaging.
There was an obvious gap in the market for smaller hampers, addressing the food waste and recycling issue without compromising on quality and so Letter Box Hamper was born.
Celebrating the very best of British food and drink
Less packaging, less waste
Perfectly sized indivdual treats
Thoughtful and personalised
Proudly independent, Letter Box Hamper is a complete celebration of Great British local produce, from Scottish Whisky to Cornish Tea, hand crafted gins and bean to bar chocolate, we are a nation of innovative foodies.
I continue to spend my time travelling the length and breadth of Britain, sampling the best regional produce and forming strong relationships with the individuals who make them. You won’t find our produce in any old supermarket with each hamper having been carefully selected, guaranteeing it is totally unique.
From my base in Cornwall it is easy to see how food and drink flows through the veins of the West Country, from fresh-off-the-boat seafood to just-picked fruit and award-winning vineyards.
I am continually amazed at the world-class food and drink I discover, each lovingly crafted by enthusiastic, dedicated local producers.
I am always keen to meet new suppliers so if you’d like to say hello, suggest a new supplier or request a bespoke mini-hamper, simply get in touch.
